Sexy

oh guess what it is it's

MAINICHI MONSUTAA

The ever talented illustrator and flying haircuttress Kali Ciesemier is a real champ. She's also a teacher these days, which means that when she gives me an assignment, I'd damn-better-well-off-to-do the listening to and executing of that assignment. Or something. She's trying to get me to push those velvetty blacks, and I'm going to start doing that. I still need to push it a lot further, but here's a baby step.

my dream girl

So that's that. Only one monster today, and probably most of this week since I'm working like crazy right up through next Sunday. As for the comic, I'm holding off a bit because the page after the next to be posted (understand?) has some compositing from an old sketchbook and I don't have that sketchbook with me. More to come, though. Just be patient.

Hey hey! Lookin' goood, buddy. A definite improvement! I especially like the shadow on the face and the black hat with the wiggly white lines. :) Keep it up!
It sounds like you're pretty busy over there, but the next time you feel like bumping your challenge to the next level, I suggest...Proportion!
Most of your drawings have big heads and small noodle bodies, and there's nuthin' wrong with that, but I think you might find that playing with varying proportion can be very rewarding.
No doubt Sam has introduced you to the work of Brian Ralph, but I was looking at this thing he made up & thought you might enjoy it too: http://firstsecondbooks.typepad.com/mainblog/2008/01/draw-like-a-ral.html
